SECTOR · MANUFACTURING & ENGINEERING

Electrical work for the firms making things.

Lancashire’s industrial backbone is small and mid-sized manufacturers — precision engineering, fabrication, process, automotive supply, aerospace tier 2 and 3. We work for them, on their terms, around their shifts.

WHY MANUFACTURING

East Lancashire's industrial base is bigger than people think.

The M65 corridor between Blackburn and Burnley quietly does a lot of the country’s precision engineering, aerospace componentry and process manufacturing. Frontier Park, Burnley Bridge, Network 65, Whitebirk, Shadsworth — these aren’t quiet industrial estates. They’re full of firms making things for clients across the UK and the world.

Manufacturing electrical work is different to commercial work. The supplies need to be sized right for plant that draws hard. The containment has to hold up to a factory environment, not an office ceiling void. The install has to fit into shift patterns that don’t stop for anyone. And the paperwork — EICRs, insurance evidence, isolation procedures — has to be the kind procurement and H&S teams can actually file.

We’ve done enough manufacturing work to know the difference. The detail mindset that defines ProLek — stainless screws, proper containment, certificates before we leave — is even more important in industrial settings because the stakes of getting it wrong are higher. A flickering office light is an inconvenience. A failing machine supply at 3am on a Sunday shift is a different kind of problem.

SERVICES FOR MANUFACTURERS

What we do on a factory site.

01

Machine power supplies

New dedicated supplies for production machinery, sized to the load with proper isolators, fused spurs and containment.

02

3-phase installations

New 3-phase supplies, capacity upgrades, sub-mains. DNO liaison handled where needed.

03

Factory lighting

High-bay LED for production halls, workshops and warehouses. Lux surveys, documented savings, phased installs.

04

Planned maintenance

Annual EICRs, thermal imaging, PAT testing, scheduled distribution inspection. 24-hour breakdown response.

05

Distribution upgrades

Board replacements, sub-mains, capacity upgrades. Out-of-hours so production doesn’t stop.

06

Thermal imaging surveys

Non-intrusive thermal imaging of distribution boards and panels — finds the failure before it happens.
