I’m Lee Kendal. I started ProLek Electrical NW Ltd in 2022 after spending most of my working life on commercial and industrial sites watching corners get cut on jobs I’d have done differently. Different doesn’t have to mean expensive. It usually means caring about the bits nobody’s going to inspect.
That’s where the name came from in the end — professional electrical, done with care. Not the catchiest, but accurate. ProLek’s not a one-bloke-in-a-van setup. It’s a small, NAPIT-approved firm with proper accreditations, proper insurance, and the kind of paperwork commercial buyers actually need to see before they put you on a tender list. That’s a deliberate choice from the start, not something we’ll get round to later.
The pivot into commercial and industrial work was also deliberate. There are plenty of good domestic sparks in East Lancashire. What there isn’t enough of is contractors who’ll quote a factory job honestly, finish it on time, and leave the place tidy enough that the production manager isn’t quietly cursing your name for the next week. That’s the gap we’re trying to fill.
What we promise — and it’s a short list — is that the screws don’t rust because they’re stainless, the cables aren’t held up with cable ties because the containment goes in properly, every install is tested and certified before we leave, and the paperwork is right because procurement teams notice when it isn’t. There’s nothing clever about any of that. It’s just doing it.
If you want a contractor who’ll come and look at a job, quote it straight, and tell you if it’s outside what we do — that’s us. If you want the cheapest quote in Lancashire — that’s not.

The bits the client never sees are the bits that go wrong first. Stainless screws on outdoor fixings. Proper containment, not cable ties. Boards labelled. We take care over the things you’d only notice in five years’ time when something hasn’t gone wrong.
We’ll come and look at a job, give you a straight quote, and tell you plainly if it’s outside what we do. That second part is the bit most contractors skip. We’d rather pass on a job than take one we can’t deliver on.
Industrial work means working around shifts. Commercial work means working around trading hours. We’ve never asked a client to stop trading or shut a line for us to work, and we don’t plan to start.
The Altham unit covers a twenty-five mile radius. We don’t take jobs we can’t get to within the hour, because being able to actually turn up to a callout is part of what we sell. If you’re outside the radius, we’ll point you at someone who can help.

The Altham unit is the operational base — ten minutes from Burnley, five from Accrington, sixteen from Blackburn. The whole East Lancashire industrial corridor is within an hour and most of it within the twenty-five mile radius.
